Raila Odinga: Avocado is the new Gold

Avocado is rising up fast to become the new gold in the world according to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga. Raila Odinga was addressing farmers in Western Kenya during the launch of Avocado tree planning at Nyamira Girls’ High School and Bar Opuk Primary School in Bondo Constituency.

Avocado is a cash crop. Avocado is the new gold that has been found in the world… so we want to see this place become more and more green, said Odinga.

He urged farmers to plant Avocados to serve the region as a cash crop and increase their income. He encouraged the farmers to plant it in large quantities to be able to serve the region as a cash crop. He further encouraged the farmers by stating that he wants the people of Western Kenya to plant as many Avocado trees so that they can put up an avocado processing factory in Kisumu.
